The IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Top Gun “Mojave Desert” (ref. IW506003) reinterprets the quintessential pilot’s form through the lens of military-inspired minimalism. Released in 2021, it is the first Big Pilot to feature a sand-coloured ceramic case – a material and tone chosen to echo the arid landscapes of the U.S. Navy’s China Lake testing facility in the Mojave Desert.

Measuring 46mm across, the case is engineered from zirconium oxide ceramic, paired with a screw-in titanium crown and case back for strength and reduced weight. The subdued brown dial is accented with sharp beige numerals and a matching textile strap, maintaining full legibility while reinforcing the tactical aesthetic. Powering the watch is IWC’s in-house calibre 52110, a self-winding movement with twin barrels, delivering a 7-day power reserve. Water-resistant to 60m, it merges tool-watch purpose with durability.
