The Rolex Explorer as can be indentified in its title, was specifically designed for adventurers and explorers, which became a household name for the Rolex brand. The watch features a simple and elegant design, focused on it’s durability and precision instead. This helped the model gain immense popularity and eventually became a model that transcended it’s function. The Explorer is also known for its association of the first succesful ascent of Mount Everest in 1953, where it is believeved that one of the climbers were wearing the initial prototypes of the Explorer. The watch is powered by Rolex’s in-house calibre 3230 movement, which offers power reserve of 70 hours and up to 100m of water resistance.
