The IWC Portugieser (ref. IW501701) continues one of the brand’s most emblematic lines with subtle evolution and engineering finesse. Released in 2024, it refines proportions and movement architecture while staying true to the Portugieser’s elegantly nautical design language. The silver dial sets a refined tone, anchored by clean Arabic numerals and the signature 6 o’clock power-reserve indicator.

This updated Automatic 42 version features a 42.4mm stainless steel case with a polished bezel and 12.9mm profile, preserving the Portugieser’s balanced wrist presence. At its heart is the calibre 52011 – a next-generation upgrade of the 52010, known for its use in select Big Pilot models. The movement delivers an impressive 7-day power reserve via IWC’s twin-barrel system and Pellaton winding. Though robust, the design remains refined, housed under sapphire crystal and paired with a transparent caseback. Water resistance is rated to 30 metres.
